Pedagogical Director

Spring Garden Waldorf School is seeking a Pedagogical Director to join our team of school leaders in ensuring an exemplary Waldorf student experience, supporting our faculty, and cultivating a culture of collaboration and communication at our school.
The Pedagogical Director is empowered to execute the strategic plans that have been created through the collaborative work of the organization. The person in this role will work closely with the Director of Administration, the College of Teachers, and the Board of Trustees to create a shared vision of the future of the school.
The position reports to and is supervised by the Administrative Faculty.
The Pedagogical Chair has personal responsibility for:
Pedagogical Development
Support of Faculty
Administrative Duties in Service of Colleague Collaboration, Policy, and Procedure
Parental Liaison Support Work
Committee Work and Program Supervision
Shared Responsibility for Advancing Strategic Objectives
The following competencies are critical to success in this role:
Leadership: Demonstrates an ability to advance the mission, vision and values of Spring Garden Waldorf School and an ability to work collegially and lead conversations with the constituent groups of the school community.
Commitment: Dedicated to furthering Waldorf education within the framework of child development and anthroposophy as well as to personal continuing education.
Collaboration: Engages in teamwork as a member of the school’s leadership team including Administrative Faculty, College of Teachers and Board of Trustees.
Waldorf Teaching Experience: Brings a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in a Waldorf school as well as Waldorf Teacher or Administrative certification.
Waldorf Pedagogy Experience: Understands contemporary development of Waldorf pedagogy and curriculum as informed by our participation in AWSNA and its application across subjects for students from preschool through grade 8.
Education and Behavior: Aligns with these responsibilities and is consistent with the competencies identified above.
This role provides an opportunity to make a significant contribution and impact on the Spring Garden Waldorf School and community. This leader will work on site at school.
