Little Gems of the Sierra is a Waldorf-Inspired non-profit preschool in Truckee, California. Our early childcare program focuses on Emerging Toddlers, Toddlers, Preschool 1st year and Preschool 2nd year children with an age range of 18 month olds - 5 year olds.

Preschool Teacher Assistant Duties Include But Not Limited To:
- Support Lead Teacher in daily routine and Rhythm
- Attend to children's basic needs by feeding them, dressing them, and changing their diapers as needed
- Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities
- Help children who need one on one time so lead teacher can be with the class
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines
- Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Attend staff meetings, and serve on committees as required
- Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress
- Follow ques and tasks of Lead teacher
- Organize and label materials, and display students' work in a manner appropriate for their ages and perceptual skills

Education/Minimal Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age
- Current CPR certification
- Pass a Live Scan Background check
- Experience: Completed with passing grades, at least 6 post-secondary ECE units or a Child Development Assistant Permit OR 95 hours of classroom instruction and 150 hours of supervised filed experience. Assistant shall work directly under the supervision of a teacher (See Title 22 regulations 101216.1 for more information)

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
- Must be in good physical health and pass a TB test.
- Must comply with California State immunization laws.

Typically, our Teacher / Assistant Teacher position has a starting pay range of: $16.00 to $19.00/hr (dependent on experience, Waldorf training, etc). We have the potential for both full-time and part-time positions.
