EDUCATIONAL FACILITATOR - WALDORF

The Educational Facilitator (EF) is a certificated, exempt position with Dimensions Collaborative School which is operated by Element Education. The EF reports to the School Director. The primary responsibility of the EF is to provide support and guidance to parents in the Waldorf philosophy and facilitate student personalized learning which includes, but is not limited to, assessing, developing, planning, organizing, and monitoring a comprehensive educational plan for the desired success of each student.
Essential Functions
Support Student Learning
-Collaborate with parents and students to develop learning plans which best fit students’ learning styles, academic needs, and personal growth while offering opportunities for mastery, autonomy, and a sense of purpose
-Collaborate with parents and students on goals, objectives, methods of study, and assignments which integrate state standards with student interests, power traits, talents, and dispositions; establish summative assessment tools
-Collaborate with parents and students on preparing the learning environment in accordance with students’ power traits and school’s philosophy
-Facilitate access to appropriate learning resources and educational materials, including collaborating with Instructors, to complete assignments related to Personalized Plan and Record (PPR) in a timely manner
-Maintain open communication with students and parents throughout the learning period assessing regularly for academic growth and planning, including monitoring Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals and objectives; Use formative assessment and self-reflection to guide learning
-Meet with student and parent, as needed, but at least the minimum required by the school, to discuss progress made on learning plan
-Assist parent and student in maintenance of learning portfolio, learning management, and digital workflow
-Work closely with and assign tasks to learning assistants, including mentoring the learning assistant with his/her role and how he/she can assist specific students
-Understand and practice the Waldorf philosophy, including planning and executing of Waldorf lessons and using Waldorf materials
-Work closely with and assign tasks to learning assistants, including mentoring the learning assistant with his/her role and how he/she can assist specific students
-Provide homeschool assignments, as needed
-Implement the Multi-Tiered Student Support System (MTSS)
-Actively participate in school-wide teams
-Ensure the safety of students including, but not limited to, conducting emergency drills and cleaning of workspace
-Practice Learning Community (PLC) to Support Student Learning DCS-Wide
-Participate as part of a PLC to collaborate with colleagues and Specialists on matters related to professional development, curriculum, instruction, and other related school-wide educational practices
-Provide course instruction and preparation including, but not limited to, virtual, learning labs, makerspaces, and workshops
-Provide syllabi, communiques, assignments, and project updates to School Director or designee
-Assist with organizing field trips and/or special events
-Collaborate with other EFs in evaluating student work
-Assist with the coordination of subject area classes, workshops, and other offerings, including but not limited to, planning and ordering supplies
-Support Positive DisciplineTM and its’ practices and principles
FT Salary: $47,474 - $91,757
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package (FT Only); CalSTRS; 5 Sick Days
Work Schedule: 10 months
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Requirements:
1. Possess a current, Clear or Preliminary, California Teaching Credential
2. Waldorf training strongly preferred or willingness to learn the Waldorf education
