Early Childhood Educator - PS Assistant

Early Childhood Educator, Preschool Aftercare Assistant - North Vancouver, BC Part-time (3 afternoons)
The Vancouver Waldorf School is looking for a fully certified Early Childhood Educator to work part-time in our afternoon Preschool Program. We are seeking a teacher who has a solid knowledge and background in their subject area, informed by a connection to anthroposophy. A genuine willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues within the ECC and throughout the school is essential. Training and/or a strong interest in Early Childhood Waldorf pedagogy would be favourable.
Description:
The afternoon ECE Teacher is responsible for supporting the classroom program. This includes but is not limited to guiding the children during fairy tales, puppet plays, walk day, watercolour painting, modeling, bread baking, handwork, free play and outdoor time. The afternoon ECE Teacher will carry out the daily, weekly and yearly rhythm of the classroom centering on the year's seasons and festivals and will be prepared to lead group activities such as circle time, snack time, and story time; deal successfully and creatively with transition times; and handle the unexpected in an appropriate manner. The afternoon ECE Teacher is responsible for the preparation of snack, kitchen clean-up, table setting and tidying, classroom laundry, and for helping with general care and preparation of the classroom and materials.

• ECE License, ECE Certificate
• Experience working with children under the age of 6 preferred
• Health clearance by way of a physical examination
• Must be legally able to work in Canada
• Current First aid certificate.
• Ability to obtain a Criminal record check
• Waldorf Early Childhood Education training is desirable.
• 3 Letters of reference
