ADMISSIONS ASSISTANT
Portland Waldorf School was founded in 1982 and is fully accredited through the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA). We serve students in Early Childhood through 12th grade on a beautiful seven-acre campus. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum, as well as a
middle and high school athletics program.
DESCRIPTION:
The Portland Waldorf School Admissions Assistant is responsible for assisting the Enrollment Director with outreach, enrollment management, and retention of PWS students, with the primary responsibility of managing the enrollment component of the PWS database.
ADMISSIONS/ENROLLMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process and track prospective families through each step of the admissions process from inquiry through enrollment
Field communications including responding to inquiries, answering queries regarding enrollment process and following up with applicants to complete all of the pieces of their application
Send communications to families and faculty/staff at area Waldorf and feeder schools regarding admissions events and shadowing opportunities
Coordinate schedules for shadow visits, including invites, confirmations, finding hosts, informing faculty, greeting on the day of the visit and post visit follow up
Coordinate interviews with teachers and family, proctor admissions tests, communicate results with teachers
Track RSVPs for outreach events
Print and prepare enrollment packets for tours and mailings
REPORTING/RETENTION:
Develops strong understanding of database, able to track and report admissions data, including tours, attendance at open houses, shadow visits and enrollment
Support Enrollment Director in planning, preparing and facilitating events such as open houses, tours and presentations
Support the facilitation of internal and external events aimed at retention efforts
Provide monthly enrollment updates and reports to Enrollment Director
REQUIREMENTS:
Warm and friendly demeanor, collaborative spirit and commitment to advancing equity efforts in a school setting
Solid organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of Google Suite, database friendly, familiarity with Zoom
Ability to pass a background check
High school diploma or equivalent capacity
This is a year-round, part-time, non-exempt position with a pay rate of $16.00 per hour. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00am-1:00pm, with some occasional evening and weekend shifts as needed. Benefits offered include paid sick time per Oregon state law.
