Waldorf Certified/Trained Teacher
For a Full-time “Tutoring” Position
Monarch Hills Homeschool Co-Op, is a developing outdoor living classroom on an urban farm. We are seeking a Lead Teacher with a strong foundation in Waldorf Education and anthroposophy, to guide one class of multi-age students.
While working with a team of part-time enrichment teachers, the Lead Teacher will be responsible to create and deliver a versatile curriculum. Subjects include, but are not limited to Language Arts, Mathematics, Movement, Nature Studies, Social Studies, Art, and Music.
A strong sense of adventure, fun loving attitude, and respect and understanding for nature are essential aspects of this position, as students learn and play outdoors throughout the seasons. The farm land consists of a ⅓ an acre and has a play yard, classroom yurt, covered shelter, gardens, farm animals, and barnyard.
Position Requirements
- Work on site from 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday - Thursday, and additional hours as needed for preparation from school or home.
-Teach out of the Waldorf philosophy; design and implement appropriate instructional lessons for the curriculum you are responsible for delivering.
- Adaptability to meet each child’s intellectual and emotional ability.
-Positive classroom management awareness.
-Oversee the safety of our students, during school hours.
- Work collaboratively as part of a faculty team.
-Communicate daily and weekly with parents regarding important topics as needed.
- Maintain CPR and First Aid Training.
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience working in a Waldorf setting.
-Experience working with early elementary students in an educational setting.
-Enrolled in or completed Waldorf training in Elementary Education or desire to enroll in such a program.
-A Bachelors or Masters degree, preference with an Education major.
-Strong communication skills, the ability to work through challenges, and a collaborative spirit.
Physical Requirements
-Prolonged periods standing
-Ability to work in all weather conditions.
-Must be able to work with uneven terrain
COMPENSATION
The Primary Lead Teacher salary is competitive based on education and experience, and is eligible for 50 percent Tuition Remission.
