Experienced Substitute Teachers
Sep 30 2021 | Ocean Charter School | Del Rey, California
Ocean Charter School uses a Waldorf Educational approach to teach common core standards in a public-school setting. We need substitute teachers for TK-8th grades. Applicants MUST have prior experience working with children in TK-8th grade as well as special needs students in this age range. The substitute teaching position requires high-level communication and management skills with the ability to successfully assist children with conflict resolution. Prior teaching experience is preferred, as well as familiarity with Waldorf Education. Effective communication with parents and colleagues, and organization is an absolute necessity. In addition, the position may require lots of physical activity, including tidying, running, jumping, skipping, bending, and the possibility of lifting upwards of 75 pounds.
We are seeking teachers for the 2022-2023 school year, and substituting is an excellent place to start! We are particularly interested in candidates with the ability and flexibility to teach all grades, including the upper loop (6-8). Our school offers professional development opportunities, mentoring, and a supportive working environment.
The substitute rate for a daily assignment is $30 per hour and for a long-term position (10 days or more) is $35 per hour.

o Communicating with the main-lesson teacher regarding the outcomes for the day and any pertinent information.
o Maintaining a positive and professional image
