Experienced Lead Aftercare Supervisor

Ocean Charter School, a Public Waldorf Charter School located in Del Rey is looking for an experienced Aftercare Supervisor to monitor students, assist in conflict resolution during outdoor play, snack time, and indoor activities. Prior teaching experience is preferred. Effective communication with parents and colleagues, and organization is an absolute necessity.
Applicants MUST have prior experience working with children in TK-8th grade as well as special needs students in this age range. The Aftercare Supervisor position requires high-level communication and management skills with the ability to successfully assist children with conflict resolution. In addition, the position requires lots of physical activity, including tidying, running, jumping, skipping, bending, and the possibility of lifting upwards of 75 pounds. The position also requires organization with sign-in/out sheets, emergency information, and other related paperwork.
The hours are 1:45pm on M, T, Th, F and 11:45am on W. Supervisors are needed in the late afternoon/evenings until approximately 5:00-6:00pm. Applicants must be reliable and punctual, have experience with conflict resolution, special needs students and have high level communication and management skills.
The position is part-time (20-25 hours per week) and the hourly rate is $15-$17 per hour, depending on experience, education, and training.
Responsibilities include:
o Taking direction from the Lead After Care Supervisor and Executive Directors
o Supervising students after school
o Assisting students with conflict resolution
o Preparation of snack
o Communicating with parents
o Maintaining a positive and professional image
o Maintaining professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
o Maintaining consistent, punctual, and regular attendance

Qualifications for Classroom Assistant teachers:
a.) Experience working with children in grades TK-8th
b.) A two-year Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree preferred
Requirements for employment:
o Proof of Covid-19 vaccination
o Live scan clearance
o TB clearance
o Trainings (provided by OCS): Child abuse reporting, First Aid, CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogens
