Main Lesson teacher

Thank you for your interest in our school!
Seeking the perfect candidate that is experienced and flexible. In search of a main lesson teacher to step in this year starting November.
Must have familiarity with Anthroposophy and child development via Waldorf Training/working as a class teacher in a Waldorf school.
This is a class of around 10 students and is an in person position. The class is lovely, as are the supportive parents. Potential to become our first grade teacher next school year.
The schedule has early release days and you will be supported by a mentor.

About the school:
Nestled on twelve acres in Milwaukie, Oregon – ten minutes from Southeast Portland – Micha-el School has been independent and thriving since 2008.
Micha-el School offers a well-rounded kindergarten through eighth grade education. Our Waldorf certified teachers provide a balanced, comprehensive curriculum that weaves academics with creativity to inspire joyful learning. Blending language arts, math and sciences with music, foreign languages, art and movement, we fully engage children at every developmental age. We have a warm and vibrant community dedicated to the physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual well-being of every student.
Micha-el School is committed to providing traditional academics along with full slate of staffed specialty subjects including: Handwork, Woodwork, Eurythmy, Spanish, German, Folk Dance, Games, Strings, Choir, Wind Band, and middle school Math. We are dedicated to maintaining small class sizes, with a cap of 18 students per class.
We offer a competitive salary, tuition remission, medical insurance, retirement benefits, and an early day for personal use.
The hiring process includes, but is not limited to: a campus tour, classroom observations, one or more teaching demonstrations presented by the candidate, and a hiring interview with the College of Teachers. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the applicant.
Qualified candidates should possess a warm heart, a willingness to work in collaboration, prior Waldorf teaching experience, good classroom management, and communication skills.
