Middle School Math Support Teacher

Cedarwood Waldorf School in Portland, OR, is seeking a qualified candidate to become our Middle School Math Support Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. This position is to support a comprehensive math program which meets students with different skill levels and learning styles. This is a 0.5 FTE position.

The work hours are:
Monday -- 12:00-3:00pm (3h)
Tuesday -- 10:30-3:00pm (4.5h)
Wednesday -- 11:30-3:00pm (3.5h)
Thursday -- 10:30-3:00pm (4.5h)
Friday -- 10:30-3:00pm (4.5h)
Total               20h/week

Known as a progressive urban school, Cedarwood is located in SW Portland, an area known for its natural beauty, abundance of outdoor recreational activities and thriving foodie culture. Our relationship with Portland Parks and Recreation has allowed us use of adjacent Lair Hill Park, the first pesticide-free park in Portland, for our movement classes and recess. Portland has a robust Waldorf community, with six schools, a Waldorf high school, many home pre-schools, anthroposophical doctors, therapeutic eurythmists and the Portland Branch of the Anthroposophical Society.

Our three pillars -- faculty, board and administration, and parent community -- have created a mature school organization and vibrant community. We have an effective peer mentoring program and strong support for all teachers. 

Cedarwood Waldorf School is accredited by both AWSNA and NWAIS and currently has 260 students enrolled from Early Childhood through Grade Eight. Our special subject offerings include Spanish, Japanese, Practical Arts, Movement, Eurythmy, and Music.
