Human Resources Manager & Registrar

The Washington Waldorf School, located in Bethesda, Maryland, is seeking a Human Resources Manager & Registrar, beginning on November 1, 2021.
This is a full-time, year-round position with a wide range of administrative responsibilities at our School.
The Human Resources Manager constitutes about 85% of overall duties, and includes the following main areas of responsibility:
· Manage bi-weekly payroll and all support functions, in coordination with Business Manager
· Manage all aspects of employee benefits
· Coordinate hiring and onboarding of all new WWS employees, including job postings, applicant tracking, training and supporting hiring committees
· Support departments in employee evaluation process
· Support compliance with State of Maryland, insurance, accrediting agency, and other requirements
· Act as title VI, IX and 504 coordinator
· Maintain HR school policies and procedures
· Support Business Manager in financial reporting and analysis
· Support evaluation and implementation of School insurance policies
· Maintain employee personnel records
· Other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
The Registrar component of the position constitutes about 15% of overall duties, and includes the following main areas of responsibility:
· Maintain all student records and course enrollments in BigSis student information management system and in manual files.
· Support the college counselor and the college application process by providing school records to colleges in a timely manner
· Generate and distribute semi-annual student progress reports
· Respond to records requests from alumni or transferring students
· Manage documentation for high school and teacher exchange programs.

At present the position reports to the Head of School. Requirements for the position include the following:
· Bachelor’s degree
· Minimum of 2 years of HR experience or 4 years of general administrative experience, preferably in a non-profit or independent school setting
· Working knowledge of applicable regulations and requirements
· Ability to work independently and manage/prioritize multiple tasks at once, while meeting key deadlines
· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player
· Excellent communications and computer skills
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
· Ability to pass State of Maryland criminal background check.
We will give preference to applicants with a strong human resources background, and experience or demonstrated interest in a Waldorf environment. Familiarity with ADP or other payroll system, and/or BigSis student information system is also a strong plus. Training will be provided during a transition period, but applicants must have core capabilities before hiring.
