The Chicago Waldorf School is seeking an accompanist, proficient in classical music, to play for movement classes grades 3 - 7. The school is located on Chicago’s north side at the corner of Ashland and Foster in the heart of Andersonville.

The right candidate will work closely with the lead teacher to support students as they move to the music that may alternate in tempo or volume according to movement needs.

Responsibilities include:
• Brief preparation for lessons with the lead teacher
• Play pre-assigned classical piano repertoire to support students’ movements at varying tempos as directed.
• Ability to pause/stop and resume play in support of teacher and student activity as directed.

Education and Experience:
• Must be proficient at playing classical piano music in appropriate style
• Accompanist experience a plus.

Physical Requirements/working conditions:
• Ability to manage two flights of stairs
• Sit and play for periods up to an hour in length
• Follow school requirements for COVID prevention protocols

This is a part-time position: seven one-hour sessions per week for $225 per week
Days/hours: Mondays 10:30am-11:30am
2:00pm-3:00pm
Tuesdays 10:30am-11:30am
2:00pm-3:00pm
Wednesdays 11:30am--12:30pm
1:00pm-2:00pm
2:00pm-3:00pm
