Orchard Valley Waldorf School, in East Montpelier Vermont, is seeking a Handwork teacher for grades 1-5. The ideal candidate would be an experienced Waldorf teacher, have a deep understanding of child development, and implement a dynamic curriculum that meets the needs of the growing child through handwork and other practical arts.

OVWS is a small, rural school, located 8-miles from the capital town of Montpelier. The beautiful campus sits on 55-acres that encompasses meadows, forests, orchards, garden, and is abutted by the Kingsbury Branch of the Winooski River. A rich Waldorf curriculum in combined classes is offered. The school is also home to an early childhood program and there are chickens, goats, sheep and soon to be cows which the students help care for. Faculty and staff are a hardworking, dedicated, fun, interesting, supportive, collaborative and compassionate group of people wanting the best handwork teacher around to join them.

Montpelier, Vermont’s capital town is small with big-city amenities - a lively arts and music scene, great restaurants, and an active community life.

The position is for the 21/22 school year with an assistant. This is a 30% salaried position, dependent on skills, qualifications, and availability. Salary dependent on experience and training.
