Pedagogical Director

The Waldorf School of Tampa Bay is a 22-year old, AWSNA member school serving age 3 through Grade 8 on a forested campus, in an urban, seaside location. We are seeking a Pedagogical Director to begin immediately, in person.
Working out of a model of collaborative leadership, the Pedagogical Director works closely with Faculty, the Administration, and the Board of Trustees to plan and implement the pedagogical and administrative objectives and decisions of these bodies. Together with the Grades and Early Childhood Chair, the Pedagogical Director forms the group responsible for the development, monitoring and success of the school’s educational program.
Description
The Pedagogical Director serves as an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees, and participates in Parent Council and administrative staff meetings. Inspiring a culture of collaboration, the Pedagogical Director ensures that the faculty carries out its role in fulfilling the school’s mission. The Board of Trustees ensures that appropriate human resources, finance/accounting, facilities management, strategic planning and admissions resources support this position.
Commitment
This is a in-person, year round, salaried position. It could be full or part time, and also partnered with grades subject teaching, if desired. Benefits include paid time off, medical stipend, and tuition remission.
Key Qualifications
- Have at least 10 years experience as a Waldorf teacher with proven collaborative leadership experiences in a Waldorf school.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education or a related field.
- Possess Waldorf certification or equivalent.
- Have teacher mentoring experience and / or training.
- Have a strong understanding of and ability to articulate Waldorf pedagogy and anthroposophy.
- Demonstrate a commitment to and the necessary skills for collaboration, objectivity, relationship and consensus building, and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrate a warm, caring manner with adults and children.
