Early Childhood Lead Teacher
Sep 14 2021 | Eugene Waldorf School | Eugene, OR
The Eugene Waldorf School is looking for a lead teacher for our early childhood program for the 2021-2022 school year.
We are looking for compassionate, enthusiastic, imaginative, nurturing people to join our group of early childhood teachers who oversee the holding of 2 1/2-6 year-old children; a creative teacher who speaks to the children in imaginative pictures, who has a connection with nature and who is not averse to rainy weather! We need teachers who can establish a healthy rhythm with warmth, joy and is happy to participate in our rich festival life.
Our school is in its 41st year! Our dynamic and dedicated community strives to take up Rudolf Steiner's indications for education in a living way. The teachers, committed to anthroposophy and social renewal, strive to work harmoniously together and are committed to self-development. We also work closely with Waldorf Teacher Education Eugene whose adult students, master teachers and lecturers further inspire and support the school.
Located between the beautiful Cascades and the pristine Pacific Coast, our area offers many outdoor and recreational activities. Home to the University of Oregon, Eugene also offers a host of cultural activities—a vibrant arts community, and a thriving theater and diverse music scene. Various farmer markets offer crafts and produce from many local artisans, and organic and biodynamic farmers. Eugene is a terrific place to raise and care for children, and the children are the center of our school. For further descriptions of our school and faculty, programs, campus and information about greater Eugene, please visit our website.
Lead teacher applicants are required to have a Waldorf teacher training certificate. We value the additional training of candidates with a bachelor’s degree. They should have excellent communication skills, work collegially and be enthusiastic about parent education. Benefits include tuition remission, family health insurance, professional development days and mentoring. Salary depends on education and experience. To apply, please email a letter of intent, a short biography, your resume and references to Beth Daly, Early Childhood Chair, at beth.daly@eugenewaldorf.org. References should include one previous employer and two individuals who are familiar with your work with children. We look forward to hearing from you.
