Cairn Hill Nature Preschool is seeking a Waldorf teacher for a Waldorf-inspired Nature Preschool in Lynn, Massachusetts, a multi-ethnic community 15 miles north of Boston. www.cairnhillpreschool.org

Cairn Hill’s mission is to bring the transformative power of the arts to young learners in urban and multi-ethnic communities using story, music, nature and the hands-on approach inspired by Waldorf education. Our mixed age preschool provides diverse children with a high quality preschool experience. Our approach uses Waldorf storytelling, gardening and daily nature discovery with art, music and circle time to foster a rich love of learning. We recognize the value of play and inquiry–based outdoor exploration interwoven with creatively presented pre-literacy and STEAM learning for children who will enter public school kindergarten.

Our preschool is located on 70 quiet acres of pristine woodlands in Lynn, MA, a diverse, gateway city. We seek candidates who share our mission to bring Waldorf enrichment to children from a wide variety of ethnic, linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds. We welcome candidates who would be eager to co-create a curriculum for children who would not ordinarily experience the richness of a Waldorf early childhood classroom.

Position full-time from 8-4:30 pm, 5 days/week.
Position commences immediately.

Qualifications:
• 2-3 years Waldorf Early Childhood teaching experience with Waldorf training preferred
• Love of children and desire to bring the Waldorf approach to a diverse population
• Interest in a nature-based and arts approach to education
• Openness to learning and co-creating a curriculum that blends Waldorf pedagogy with kindergarten readiness skills presented using an engaging, experiential approach.
• A cooperative classroom team player
• Self-motivated on the job
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather for an extended period of time, in woodland, garden and play yard settings
• MA EEC Preschool Teacher certification or willingness to obtain certification in first year of employment, assistance provided

Compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience.
