German Teacher: 5th-8th Grade

Portland Waldorf School is welcoming applications for a part-time German Teacher for the 2021-22 school year for 5th through 8th Grades. We are looking for an experienced grade school language teacher who demonstrates fluency and knowledge of the German language, is a native speaker, and brings their cultural traditions with them. A love of teaching and training or interest in Waldorf education is expected.
Teaching responsibilities include:
- preparation for classes
- evaluation of student progress,
- classroom management,
- preparation of a syllabus for students,
- daily attendance,
- Yearend narrative evaluation for each student
- Occasional faculty meeting attendance, ~1x/month.
Our teachers and staff members work enthusiastically and energetically to engage their students and are dedicated to Waldorf education. They work collaboratively with their colleagues and the parent community to create an educational environment that is aligned with the school mission and program goals.
Portland Waldorf School was founded in 1982 and is fully accredited through the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA). We serve students in Early Childhood through 12th grade on a beautiful seven-acre campus. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum, as well as a middle and high school athletics program.
